It’s a long wait for results for the navigators, skippering once a year in the Seafarers Measure event.  This year a small fleet took to the course early on the chilly morning. With the Commodores Ball preparations in full swing in the clubhouse, there were no results announced and many of the fleet headed home to glam up, ready for the evening festivities. Results will be announced at results in 2 weeks. This Saturday is CPYC State Heat and Raft up afterwards at Royal Perth Yacht Club.

It’s a busy time of year with AGMs, Management and Section committee selections. The Power Section Committee is pleased to welcome new people and returning members for 2021-22 season.  Congratulations to Captain Dave Markham & Vice Captain Doug Smith on re-election at last weeks AGM.

Some members mistakenly think the power section has a narrow focus concentrating only on the Time Trialling competition. The 16 portfolios of the committee reflect the levels of involvement of power members in areas right across the club.  Welcome to Angela Irving, taking over the role of Junior Development from Tracy Leveridge-Smith. Please put up your hand later in the year when Angela is looking for helpers for Little Skippers event. Welcome also to Jason Claricoates who will look after trophies next season once Lynne Cooper hands over the role she’s held for past 4 years. The committee extends thanks to Lynne and Tracy for your service.

Thank you to continuing  Power Committee members with portfolios representing our interests and views through their involvement and contribution on Membership, Functions, Publicity, Cruising and Pens & Moorings Committees.

Successful Management Committee candidates Angela Irving and Amanda Watson continue a tradition of having a direct voice from Power Committee on Management. Congratulations to newly elected former Power Captains, Commodore Michael Cook and Rear Commodore Troy Dalglish in 2021-22.

Thank you to all members who volunteer their time so that others can enjoy our club.
