Regatta Office – On Water Group (OWG) Office
The OWG office will be officially closed from the 25th to the 28th. However Moth competitors will find staff available on Sunday the 27th from 0800 to 1100 and Monday the 28th from 0800 to 1200.
We look forward to meeting you all.
Access to Club Facilities over Christmas
The OWG will be issuing Temporary Memberships and free WiFi access details from the 29th. In the meantime you are welcome to use the club facilities. Please note the “Quarterdeck” restaurant and bar will be closed on the 25th and 26th.
Regatta shirts will be supplied to competitors at Registration. Sizes will need to be selected at time of entry and the following size charts are provided as a guide
Assistance can be provided for those arriving by plane with boats to collect. If you require assistance of this nature, please contact Colin Spence at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0438 246 268.
All entrants and adult members of their party are granted temporary membership of the SoPYC for the period of the regatta, until the 10th January 2016.
Please collect Temporary Membership cards from the OWG office from the 29th.
Limited parking available within the Club grounds adjacent to and in front of the Centreboard Clubhouse. Please do not park on the lawn, or park or obstruct unloading areas. Provision is made for competitors to leave their boats (on trailers) at SoPYC for a limited time either before or after the regatta following prior arrangement with the Chairman of the Organising Committee.
If the club entrance gates are closed, please use the buzzer at the gate, during times that the club is staffed. Let staff know that you are with the Moths. At other times, you will need to park outside the club. The exit gate will automatically allow you to exit.
Camping is available at the Club for the duration of the Regatta. Please camp on the grassed area as close to the boat/bosun sheds as possible.
A $55 refundable deposit is required for a gate key payable at Registration.
Campers will need to go to the OWG office to get authorisation for a gate key on or after the 29th, then take this authorisation to the main club office, (business hours Monday to Friday) to obtain the key.
Both male and female changing rooms and toilets are located in the Centreboard Clubhouse. Additional facilities are located in the Senior Clubhouse. Please enter from the door on the right hand side of the Senior Clubhouse. The Senior Clubhouse facilities are open 24/7. No wet gear is to be worn in the Senior Clubhouse.
Chandlery and Boat Repairs
Canning River Traders located within the Club grounds. CRT has an extensive range of chandlery, including a good range of fittings, ropes, paint, clothing etc, all at competitive prices. Ph. 9364 9401.
Both the Regatta Office located off the main foyer of the Senior Clubhouse and the Centreboard Galley are equipped with first aid kits.
Sunscreen is available at the Centreboard Galley counter. Please make sure you use plenty and be sunsmart. SLIP-SLOP-SLAP.
Food and Drink
The Senior Clubhouse “Quarterdeck” is open daily from 11.30am providing a la carte meals and drinks at reasonable prices. The Senior Clubhouse is fully licensed for both in-house consumption and takeaway sales. No food or drink is permitted to be brought into the Senior Clubhouse from outside venues. The Club operates under the Liquor Licencing “Responsible Service of Alcohol” policy and as your hosts, we will not server drunk, rowdy or offensive persons.
Refer to information above for specific Christmas period opening hours. There will be social functions on at the club on Sunday 27th and Friday 1st.
All visitors are welcome to use the Senior Clubhouse facilities, but please observe the dress code when using these them. In particular no wet sailing gear is to be worn in the Senior Club house. The wearing of hats or thongs inside the Bar or Quarterdeck areas of the Senior Clubhouse is not permitted.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all club buildings including the Quarterdeck Restaurant.
Wireless internet is available for competitors to use. Please register at the On Water Group Office for a password to the Club’s wireless network.
SoPYC officials will be available throughout the Regatta to assist all competitors. Please direct your queries in the first instance to the On Water Group Office located at the end and to the right of the main foyer in the Senior Clubhouse.
