Laser 4.7 Scholarships

As an International Class supported by South of Perth Yacht Club, the Academy believes the Laser is an ideal single handed class for aspiring sailors. The 4.7 option provides an ideal pathway for junior sailors to take a step up towards competing later in the Radial and Open classifications. It is envisaged that this initiative will encourage sailors from junior classes to enter the world of international one design sailing.

The successful recipients will be awarded the use of a 4.7 rigged Laser Class Dinghy for the duration of the 2011-12 sailing season for training and competitive sailing at the Club. The boat will also be available for the recipient to compete at other nominated events supported by the Class such as the Indian Ocean Classic and the International Classes  at Regatta.
