POWER YACHTS

Powerboating at SOPYC

Time trialling is a boating activity available to any members with a craft capable of navigating at a speed between 5 and 15 knots under engine power. A time trial event involves travelling and accurately maintaining a predetermined course between fixed marks on the river at a nominated speed. Trialling instructions are available prior to the event and courses must be followed at the speed nominated by the competitor.

Family participation is possible and it provides an excellent opportunity to:

Use your boat during the winter season

  • Learn the local waters
  • Learn the navigational marks and hazards
  • Learn the capabilities of your boat
  • Familiarise yourself with local waters
