PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
South of Perth Yacht Club is experienced in running corporate and private functions from 10 to 800 people. Our restaurant, ballroom, conference rooms, BBQ and lawn areas with their spectacular views provide the best setting in Perth for your next function. Catering is provided by our own experienced staff, and can accommodate most menu requirements. From a meeting in one of our airconditioned conference rooms to a spectacular wedding reception under the stars, your event at the South of Perth Yacht Club will be unique. We assure you of our best service and attention.
Nestled into the river side of the club, the Heritage room shows off some of the clubs historical collection of memorabilia. The room itself is versatile and offers a variety of meeting arrangements from boardroom to theatre styles or as an intimate dining room for up to 35 guests. There are data projectors & screens available for hire for use in this room. It is situated next to the members bar and is only a few steps away from the Quarterdeck, where you can watch the world go sailing past, over a freshly made latte from the bar.
A meeting room with a purpose, the Committee room houses the clubs library and serves as the focal point for club management meetings. It can be hired when not in use by the club and will take up to 16 guests in a strictly boardroom set up. We have telephone hook up facility and the club's data projector and screens may be hired for use in this room as in all of our rooms.
Under the main roof, the Ballroom has a dance floor to die for. Sprung timber and well polished, the dance floor is surrounded on three sides by fantastic views of the river. The carpeted surrounds of the ballroom allow a wedding reception to be set for up to 190 guests with round tables and up to 250 guests using trestle tables. As a conference area we seat up to 400 guests theatre style and for cocktail parties we can accommodate 600 guests. It has its own bar and catering galley and is separated from the members bar area when required. The Ballroom also uses the BBQ area as a pre dinner area when large social functions are held.
Blessed with magnificent views, the Wardroom overlooks Melville Water. The city of Perth dominates the skyline and on a clear night, the views of the Swan River shoreline sparkle across the panorama that lies before you from the balcony of the Wardroom. Served by a full bar, the Wardroom has its own kitchen and offers the discerning guest the opportunity to hold seminars wedding receptions, cocktail parties, corporate or even private dinners. In fact the Wardroom balcony would be the most exclusive spot to have a wedding ceremony you could think of; just you, the river, your friends and family.
A great place to have a cocktail party or social barbecue, with one of our chefs cooking for your guests. Archie's Bar has its own can bar and three cook your own BBQ grills if you want to get down and dirty. It overlooks the confluence of the Canning River and Melville Water and to one side you have the jetties and the host of sailing and power yachts that give this club its purpose. It is surrounded by manicured lawns and has a children's play ground within a few feet so that the youngsters can play safely under your eyes. This area has hosted sit down meals (from barbecue to buffet) for over 130 people.
