DIVISION FIVE
Division 5 is comprised of smaller displacement keelboats together with several lift or swing keel trailer sailers, which are stored in land pens at the Club when not being used. The boats in Division 5 vary in size from 20-24 ft (6.1-7.3 m) and are a very mixed fleet with over a dozen different designs including Court 650 and 750, Sorcerer, MB21, Endeavour 24 and Beneteau F235.
Division 5’s main event is fleet racing every Saturday afternoon from October through to April. The racing is keen with conditions favouring different boats at different times. Whatever the weather, you will always find a race or two within the race as old rivals go at it. As a very mixed fleet we rely on handicapping and consistent sailing to determine placings. Our ethos is simple, we race for pleasure and are also keen to continue building on the social side of sailing.
Besides Saturday racing, Division 5 boats also take part in Wednesday afternoon races and twilight events on Wednesday evenings, November - March.
We race with a crew of 2, 3 or 4, so like all keelboat fleets we are constantly on the lookout for potential crew members.
