FRIDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2010 The 2010-2011 Sailing Season is fast approaching and the Pre Season Sundowner is an opportunity to hear about the coming season from the Flag Officers. It is a great night to get your crew and partners together in the great atmosphere of the Wardroom. A complimentary drink is included with each $25.00 ticket purchased and finger food will be served between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. A door prize will be presented to the lucky ticket holder at the end of the evening. Tickets are available from the office by phoning 9364 5844 or by emailing clubbookings@sopyc.com.auor in the Bar on Wednesday afternoons after sailing. |

Solo Winter Development Series Centreboard sailors are reminded of the Solo Winter Development Series that will occur over the winter months. This is a great opportunity to keep sailing throughout the year and an ideal way to practice some light air skills, perfect for beginners just starting out in their respective classes. UMPIRE TRAINING COURSE YWA is coordinating an Umpires' Training Course, sanctioned by YA, for local umpires. The course will provide an excellent opportunity for interested sailors to gain knowledge and experience in umpiring and will be a good foundation for participation a National or International Umpire seminar planned in Perth early next year. Starting 24 August, six Tuesday evening sessions of about 2½ hrs will be held.
