MEMBERSHIP


Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of South of Perth Yacht Club, one of the finest yacht clubs, not only on the Swan River, but in the whole of the state. Our Club offers a complete range of sailing, power yacht, social activities and opportunities for all.

 

South of Perth features a wide diversity of yachting classes and divisions from junior training dinghies to ocean racing craft and a very social cruising section. Our competitive time trialling power yacht fleets are the largest on the river, and welcome and accommodate the inexperienced and expert alike.

 

With a full program of social events each year, a la carte and casual dining, outdoor and indoor bars there is something for everyone seven days a week. We are absolutely sure that joining the South of Perth Yacht Club is a decision you'll look back on with both pride and pleasure.

 

The South of Perth Yacht Club offers members the choice of voting and non-voting categories of memberships. Variations of membership categories allow the entire family to enjoy the club at a membership level they are comfortable with.

FULL MEMBERSHIP provides for the competitive sailor with full club voting rights (over 18yo), the use of all club amenities, including boat parks and all other associated sailing facilities. There are variations in full membership (including junior, family and centreboard memberships).

 

CREW MEMBERSHIP is available to anyone over 18yrs who regularly crews on vessels participating in club events. It provides the use of all club amenities, including car parks and hardstand upon request.

 

COUNTRY MEMBERSHIP is available to anyone over the age of 18yrs whose usual place of residence is more than 100km radius from the club.

 

RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP is available to any person who is a full financial member of another approved yacht club.

 

SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP provides for the person who is interested in the social side of the club, no voting rights, ranging from non competitive sailing, to the enjoyment gained by being involved within the social life of a true sporting club.

 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is the equivalent of social membership and is available to anyone over the age of 18 who is the spouse (legal or defacto) of a full member/country member or the parent of a junior member.

 

Nominators and Seconders

Your membership application must be submitted with both a nominator and seconder who are already full Ordinary club members. No applications can be accepted without these signatures.

 

If you do not know any club members, please contact the Membership Chairman, Paul Ward on 0419 042 420 who will be able to assist with this requirement.
